Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic artist, performer and composer. The singer combines soul gospel jazz and R&B in a distinct blend. Sunshine has appeared on Broadway and at the Democratic National Convention and in European festivals and clubs. Sunshine's real name is Denise White. While she is living in Atlanta now, Sunshine is from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she started out as a musician playing and singing at the church in town. She studied at Spellman College and began to master the R&B styles of Atlanta. The Fighting Temptations The first single featuring her voice was called Stalk You a house 12 issued only in Japan It has been remixed since by a variety of producers and has become a staple in her live show. She also lent her voice to the music of The Fighting Temptations. She was the main piano player for Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 for a position as Choral Director of Dreamgirls, the theatre production in Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was brought to the attention of all of the country during 4 performances a day during the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Sunshine followed up with being requested to sing with President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
